Merrior oysters Rappahannock River great foodThe Secret About Merroir…

After a long day of previewing waterfront properties, Merroir is always a welcomed destination for me.  What a wonderful place to simply relax and unwind — or even discuss your real estate business needs!

Part of the Rappahannock River Oyster Company, you’ll find cozy Merroir tucked along the banks of the Rapphannock River at Locklies Marina in Topping, VA.  Arrive by car or by boat, and dine inside or out.

After all, enjoying the good life along the water’s edge is all about embracing a more relaxed lifestyle.  Merroir offers it with great ease, with tasty oysters and crabcakes that are as divine as the river views!  This wonderful hide-away restaurant offers a myriad of seafood options and assorted delectable ‘small plates.’ Their just-right portions are perfect for sharing and pairing with an icy beverage.  Bring your favorite friends and savor a memorable afternoon, living the blessed simplicities of true ‘Rivah’ life.  You may even be fortunate enough to catch a band playing live music, as you mentally decompress in this laid-back waterfront setting.

Look closely… there’s a secret here!

While there, be sure to tell your guests the little-known insider scoop about that massively impressive oyster bar located in Merroir’s tasting room.  Its plank construction is made entirely of salvaged wood — all gleaned from the debris of Hurricane Isabel.  (Talk about a worthy example of making lemonade out of life’s lemons, wow!)

The owners even opted to cover the top of the oyster bar with glass, instead of repainting it each season.  They wanted its time-worn patina to remain untouched, serving as a wonderful history of patrons past and present.  Pull up a seat and make some treasured Merroir memories of your very own.

And now you know the secret about Merroir.

Peace, love and sand between your toes,
